Michael Drayden
Consultant
Michael Drayden joined Dynamic Dwelling Consulting in September 2025, bringing with him over three decades of hands-on experience and leadership in the construction industry. His deep understanding of residential and commercial building practices, combined with his passion for craftsmanship and innovation, makes him a trusted advisor and consultant for clients and contractors alike.
Originally from Southern California, Michael began his journey in construction at just 13 years old, working weekends on small building projects that sparked a lifelong passion for the trade. At 17, he moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he completed his education and began learning all aspects of the roofing and framing industries. From there, his career expanded into every facet of construction — including foundations, drywall, electrical, plumbing, and window installation.
By his mid-twenties, Michael had joined the Carpenters Union, where he refined his commercial construction skills and mastered blueprint reading. His career later led him back to California, where he gained valuable experience working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on major infrastructure projects, including a dam along the 71 and 91 freeways. His hands-on work with large-scale engineering projects remains one of the highlights of his career.
Over time, Michael’s professional journey evolved into smart home integration and construction technology. He worked in sales for a smart home company specializing in full residential automation before founding his own business, where he managed everything from deck builds and remodels to complete tear-down rebuilds and ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) projects. His ability to merge traditional craftsmanship with modern technology set him apart in the field.
For Michael, the construction industry has never just been a job — it’s a calling. He knew he was in the right profession when his work no longer felt like work, but rather a form of creativity and service. Among his proudest achievements are building his first luxury home with the mentor who taught him everything he knows, and contributing to the construction of a $400 million dam project — both testaments to his dedication and skill.
Outside of work, Michael is a devoted husband and father to two beautiful daughters. He continues to channel his talents into helping others with their homes and volunteers his time to assist in building houses of worship. His life and career reflect a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, family, and community — values he carries into every project at Dynamic Dwelling Consulting.
